Last big snow storm pics

Just thought i'd say hi. I was bored today and i decided to take some pics of the truck in the latest (and probably last) snow storm here in pa. The storm was just getting started with 3 in on the ground. I dunno what i was looking for but the pics didnt turn out quite like i wanted them to.

Too bad that gate was down!

That was a poor choice of words on my part. What I meant to say was "It is an absolute travesty that my way was impeded by such a large and unsightly piece of iron. It is my greatest desire to see said impedence removed as to allow free and unhindered travel into the forest beyond."

we got pounded last week too. 14" in one shot.... then another 4" last night.

the weather man said that there have been 30 days of meaureable snow in northern illinois this year. i normally use my snow blower 4-5 times a year.... this year i cannot remember how many times i have used it. almost burned through 3 gallons of gas.

Waitaminute. THAT'S IT!?!?! I moved up here from Texas and heard everybody complain about how bad it was going to be and this is it? I've been waiting for the snow to pile up like it was when I was a kid in Vermont or when I've visited Colorado, and this is all we get and this is what everybody complains about?

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for the warmer weather (when everyone will start complaining when it goes above 85) but I was serously expecting something worse. Oh well, guess I'll pack my things and head back south. (rant off)

Nice pics btw, and I wish the gate was down too so we could get some better pics of you off in the woods.

Don't worry, Jasen. There's still time. I grew up in Olmsted Falls and the early part of winter wasn't too bad (east side got pounded due to lake effect) but I can remember many Marches that involved plenty of snow. I got pictures from last April when the area got hammered by 12"+. Careful for what you wish for...it could still happen. Family has also said this winter has had less snow, but way too cold.

What part of PA are you in? I am originally from Central PA and i still go back to visit friends and the Parents about once a month or so. I'm heading up this weekend and i heard they got about 8"+ and some ice to go with it.

He he, I can wish for all the snow in the world. Doesn't mean much to me except for having to keep the driveway and the walkway clear. I don't drive to work (I let the bus driver handle the snow and traffic.) My wife on the other hand She has to drive in it.

Cold hasn't seemed all that bad either. It's mostly been in the 10-30 range. We've had one or two days I think in the single digits (but I was in Florida at the time! ) I was expecting some sub zero temps from the talk I'd heard. Trust me though, I'm not wishing anything on the colder temps.

I'd like a nice buildup of snow though. It keeps melting and going away. It'd be nice to get some decent snow pics with the truck before I leave. And by snow pics I mean parked next to some snow. 2WD with stock Conti's on means I'm smart enough to not go venturing out into it. Plus, some hiking in the parks with the snow would be nice.
