Trade my O5 for an 04???

Here is the situation. I've been wanting and looking for a good deal for a while and I think I finally found one. I want to get rid of my truck sometime before June because in June my payments go from $525 up to $614. Right now I owe about $20,000 on my 05XLT that has 70,000. I am hoping they will give me about 15,000 for my truck and if they can do it, I'm going to lube up and take it if they can get me this truck for under $500 a month. You guys think this is a good deal???

If you can get your payment down that much and cut your mileage almost in half, I don't see a problem with trading an 05 for an 04. it all depends on the condition of the two trucks. if the 04 is in better condition and has more options, then I would say that it would be a no-brainer.

The trucks are almost even in my eye's. I have a moonroof and that has overhead storage. It is'nt leather and doesnt have a bedliner, just like mine. The only big thing is the cool FX4 sticker and console shifter. I want to take my tires off my rig and the autospring though. What do you think they would do if I brought my truck in there as is for them to quote and then brought it back minus the AS and tires. I have some spare 265/70/17's I could throw on there real quick.

Yikes man how'd that happen?!?!? I got my '05 FX4 brand new with only $2k down for approx. $450 a month. I've had it for a little over 2 years and owe just under $18k with 31k miles...

The new truck is $18k, you're going to lose $5k on the trade in, so you'd have to finance $23k. For 60 months at 9% your payments should be around $475. No way should your payments be more than $500.

Be sure to agree on a trade in price on your current truck before you even start discussing the final price of the new one.

Some BS flexpay thing they worked in. I qualified for 1.9% financing and my original loan was for $32,550, I rolled over $1,500 from a Ranger I had. Somehow they worked it for 66 months and for the first 29 I pay $525 and the next 37 I pay $614. In the end my truck would be about $38,000. It sounded good at the time but I was only 22. Now here I am 3 years later with a daughter and a mortgage. I can handle paying $500 a month but $600+, forget it! I'd rather F myself with another 5 year loan and be happy with what I drive. It's the American way!

I tossed my truck on my credit card... 3.99% for the life of the balance ($20K). As long as I don't miss a payment, I'm golden. I'm one month ahead of payments (paying March in Feb) - otherwise, I'll default back to 22%. The CC is saving me over $3K in interest.

IDK about mentioning the spacer. Either you tell them it's not included and have them concerned about an aftermarket "lift" for you pay $150 or another kit and alignment. When I debated about trading my truck - they didn't even know the suspension was modded.

If i was you, I would look into a better interest rate than the one you currently have. And stay away from Variable rates.

Was the $32,550 before or after the $1,500 from the trade in? Either way, that's pretty steep for an XLT. Like I said, my FX4 had the 18" wheels, sunroof, audiophile, power everything and ended up financing right around $28k after taxes, title, tags, etc. (Sticker was around $38k)

Mine is financed through Ford Credit at 0% for 66 months. it's like free money!

Your best option is to refinance your 05 truck.
