If you like your truck, lift it. If you don't (want a better trim level, ect.) buy one with a lift. If you don't offroad or tow, no need for a 4x4.

Except some people might laugh a little. Just a little though.

I think a mod should move this into the correct forum.

You posted it in the Care and Detailing forum - RP moved it into the general 2004+ forum for you. Detailing is cleaning, polishing, and protecting your truck, not putting a lift kit on it.

Since you won't be using it for any off road purposes I would lift it right now instead of having to find a new truck and do all the BS.

Lift it man!, if I had the money right now to lift mine I would. I bought a 2wd because I just dont offroad that much and when i bought mine I didnt make that much money. I dont think it hurts to lift any truck 2 or 4 wheel drive!

Keep it and lift it! I have a 2006 2WD and the reason I bought 2WD instead of 4WD is because I don't live in a snowy climate so didn't need 4WD for the winters and I knew there was no way I'd take a $30k truck, sink $10k into mods and then beat it up by taking it offroading. When I say offroading I don't mean running it through the sand or through a couple of mud puddles, a properly equipped 2WD with the right driver can do those things.

If you truly like your truck and aren't going to be offroading then don't waste your money buying a 4WD. Keep what you have and take those savings and lift that baby. Here's a few shots of my 06 lifted 2WD. Enjoy.

I've seen many 2wd trucks with good drivers get out of stuff that 4wd trucks got stuck in. If you do the occasional light-duty off-roading (sand, small holes, etc.) then 2wd with some good tires and a little "know how" should serve you well! As for the lift....Almost every truck looks better lifted!!!
My $.02

I've never got stuck in either of my trucks that were rear wheel drive.... doing some mild off road.

I got stuck in a 4x4 Escape though... but that thing was a POS.

I like offroading in dry areas... it's more fun... because it doesn't get the truck too messy.

I say just keep the truck that you have and mod it, unless you want to move to a different trim level or you have had problems with yours. But if you are happy with the truck you have now why start payments over when you can use that extra money for your lift wheels and tires.
