Any alternatives

As I said in an earlier post, I scratched my front and back chrome bumpers, and all though the the damage is not bad, rust is starting to form in the scratches after a wet weekend. I was told by three different body shops that the bumpers would have to be replaced. Is there any other alternatives that I can exercise before going out and getting to new bumpers? Your help would greatly be appreciated. Because if I have to buy a new OEM chrome bumper for 500 or so I might think of up grading to a bigger custom bumper.

Try removing the rust, then touch it up with some Chrome Paint! I did this to a spot on the welds on my Chrome Push Bar, came out pretty decent, can't see it unless you are looking really up close!...........

Do you think this is worth the price in the grand scheme of things.
