I have plenty of friends that have taken theres in for warranty work and have never had any problems. (Most of which, run some sort of tuner)

Edit....I do agree on the rims Jwool. In the works are planned as is...8 inch Fabtech 4.0 coilover system with 20 inch black rims of some kind and 37 inch Procomp Xtreme AT's. I have no idea when this will happen but its in the works.

I would recommend either a smaller lift or bigger tires...37s will clear with a 4in so 8in would be way too much IMO. I am going with 37s with 22s and a 4in lift.

Up until now you could just return them to stock and unplug the battery and you couldnt tell it had been tuned for the most part...certainly couldnt prove it had. The 08s are different. Besides they may not call you out on a small job but IF you needed some major work and a Ford factory guy has to come look at it then they look for any and everything they can to refuse to honor the warranty. Like I said its a gamble...to some its worth it to some its not.
What about the law to where they have to prove that the tuner and or performance modification is what actually caused the problem? I don't see how Ford could have found a loophole for this. Like I said "I" believe it's a scare tactic.
Also to clear things up, I'm not trying to say your wrong but I'm not saying that your right either, just simply relaying information that I myself have seen personally, I believe that having a transmission replaced under warranty is considered pretty major.
So I guess well just have to agree to disagree.

Did you notice this on the radiator support:

Also did you watch the DVD that came with it....in it and the owner's manual it specifical says after market tuners will void the powertrain warranty. And these trucks throw a code that doesnt go away whenever an aftermarket tune is loaded. Just something to think about on the other side of the coin from all the "get a tune" guys. I am not sure I am not getting one, but I am equally not sure if its worth the risk when there is already more power than most people will ever use.
