New ford owner ?....

Whats up? Just picked up an 04 FX4, been a chevy owner until now. Great forum. Question; How do i get the keypad to work?? The dealer didnt know the code.

They can get it off of the body control module with a computer. I had to get mine that way when I bought my truck. Any Ford dealer should be able to get the code for you. By the way welcome.......

The factory code is behind the rear seat back. On the drivers side there is a black box mounted to the wall. There is a code on it. Its a trick to remove the rear seat back, but its not hard. Once you get the hang of it, you can remove it in less than 10 minutes. All you need for tools is a 10mm socket and a fairly long screw driver.

Do a search for rear seat removal, there is a great writeup on removing the seat. two tips I will offer: mine has a square hole between the cushions. Put the screwdriver in there and it will remove easily. Also dont push up when you are trying to release the seat, it will make it move easier.

thanks guys. I will get pics up soon. Its an 04 I just put a procomp leveling kit and 35" tires, I really like it so far. I noticed it also has a k&n cold air intake! Like and idiot i didnt look at the owners manual before posting, in it was the code for the keypad.
