I think I'm going with the fork to separate ball joints.

You are correct The old bed on my 2003 screw styleside was fiberglass

It IS a pickle fork that can fit into a air hammer (used for seperating tie rod ends and ball joints).

Well after 1.25 million miles in the last 8 yrs, i will agree with 'RAMNJ' you would be very suprised at all the different road hazards out there on the road. If i had to bet without, counting i would personally say that i have seen more tools on the highways of america then anything else, mechanics leaving things under-the-hood, and do-it-yourselfer's leaving items under the hoods. its very common! Well good luck getting her fixed, nice looking truck, and sharp looking hood! My bed is also fiberglass, hope nothing like that happens to my bed, that would suck! glad everyone was alright!
