Should be a lot of fun, the flat black would be a huge attention getter. Would LOVE to see that. My only regrest are I wish I did everything I have done the first day so I could enjoy and sport it longer. Now the next guy who buys the truck gets to enjoy my delayed labor.

Have you seen the show Rob and Big on MTV? He has a flat black Tahoe. Everything is blacked out.

Yea I was going to mention the new Tahoe Rob and Big has on MTV, that SUV looks sick.

Definitely get it painted flat black if your thinking about doing it, it will look awesome and stand out really good. Harley Headlights would go along with the black theme and then black rims of course. Also it would be kind of an attention to detail thing, but paint the bottom control arms flat black when you lift it so it all flows together and there is no shiny parts, or better yet get them powder coated. But I am not to sure if you can remove the ball joints to do that, cause if not that is a no go cause of the heat.

Sounds like an awesome truck so far, looking forward to seeing it all done.

P.S. Mustang looks great too, but lifted trucks are way better, get another 150.

I agree that it looks a lot better on the show.

Here is a better picture.

How about a flat black Lotus? the Lotus looks more like a matte black.

Do you have any idea how much they'd charge you to do the whole truck in Line-X? Bring KY Buddy!!

When I got line-x done, they had pictures of an x-cab f250 that they sprayed the whole body and bed. They said it was about $3000.....so it's not too bad and it looked damn nice.

I would personally not Line-X the entire truck, too much texture. Flat black the whole truck besides the rocker panels, bumpers, fender flares, and the inside of the bed.

Plus is Line-X like really heavy? Of course it depends on the thickness, but that would be a lot of extra weight added to the truck if you sprayed the whole thing.

Line-X wouldn't be that costly - pry about the same as a new paint job in all reality. The weight though would be an issue. I'm pretty sure you can get it sprayed pretty much smooth instead of the normal "bumpy" surface.

Your idea of the "murdered out" look is awesome - I really want to do the same on my next vehicle. Flat black with black powdercoated rims, no chrome except maybe for the lip on the rims...

I'd say no to the HD badges, but that's your call. Funny thing is I'm debating about selling for a mustang instead of upgrading to a new (not 09) truck coming up here, although I really like having the ability to tow anything practical, can store / carry whatever the heck I need, etc.

I'd say go for it if you honestly think it'll help you out in some way with work. Otherwise keep the 'stang 'cause it's ooooo soooo sexxxxy

hahah.. thanks for the compliments guys.. and ya stang is nice.. but not practical.. atleast not till i can afford two cars.. then i will own another thats for sure.. and there is no other brotherhood like it..

about the murdered out look, and being flat black.. i like the way that lotus is done.. not tooo flat.. but not shiny by any means.. prolly what i will go for, bc it looks the same finish as the black rockstars..

the other thing is.. i dont think you would ever have to wax it or anything, since there is no clear coat.. someone that is getting flat black stripes painted on his stang told me they can mix some clear into the paint, so it has some pretection, but it still wont be shiny, which is what we are trying to achieve..

anybody know what a paint job like that would cost? or what if i did some of the labor my self, like sanding it.. do you think that would cut the cost?

and ya im not sure about the HD badges.. i deff wont be debadgin it, i hate that.. but maybe i paint the origional badges..

and about the control arms and suspension and all.. ya what ill end up doing probably, is gettin black caliper paint, or just a high temp engine paint (we sell at work/advance auto parts) in flat black, and doing the whole thing... calipers too..

i cant wait for this to go down.. i was thinking about it today.. some *** hole in a like 80's trans-am pulled right in front of me while i was waitning in a turn lane at a light.. when i get this truck.. it will have train horns thats for sure.. and i would have blown the fckers doors off.. or made him **** his pants atleast..

My advice is to keep it. You'll get the truck and then gas will go up to $4.00 a gallon and with what you're planning on doing to that truck you'll be kicking yourself in the *** after you just spent all that money on mods and then get ****ty gas mileage to boot.

i hear you on the gas mileage... but get this.. bc i drive mustang gt, and its manual.. i get ****ty gas mileage as it is.. i get about 15 in the city.. thats driving some what conservatively too.. if i gun it everywhere, i get like 12-13..

in the truck.. ppl with lifts and 36's are getting 15.. the thing about the truck.. you dont punch it at every light.. its easy to drive slow in that..

also good for the freakin attention i get from these cops.. its rediculous.. like i just robbed a bank

I don't think you'll get 15 mpg. I really think the 2004s got better gas mileage than the 2005s+ or my truck was just a freak so don't go off of that. I get 19 mpg in my car with a 75% city/25% hwy mix, I don't know how you're getting such crap for gas mileage. That's not going slow either.

Drop that mustang like it's hot. When those 400hp 5.8L 2010s come out next summer you won't be able to give it away....but I will take it

Then get you a NBS F150 in the fall. They are awesome looking, and the way Ford run their business, you'll be in style for another 5 years.
