New member here

I just joined the site and figured I would do a quick into. I just bought a 2004F150 4X4 supercab XLT last week and wanted to look up a few things and found this site first. Seems like a good group of people anound here. Got a few things I want to do to it one of these days like fix the accelerating "clunk" while in overdrive, level it out and finding some 4X4 decals for it. Anyone know where I can get these decals other than ebay? I did a search and ebay pops up on everything. Also, anyone know if I need a 2" or a 2 1/2" lift on the front to level the truck out? Thanks and look forward to sticking around!

Brandon

2" will almost level without destroying your CV angles too much

2.5" will be perfect level it but will be hell on your ball joint and cv angles

well first welcome to the site. you could always just go to the dealership if you want factory ones. www.fastdecals.com/ford_decals.htm i just found this site and they have a lot of different 4x4 decals. go with the 2 1/2" lift.

Thanks for the welcome and the info guys! I may play a little in the mud (lightly) but no real offroading or hard driving in bad conditions so hopefully the 2 1/2 will last. And thanks for the link, I'll check them out. Just out of curiosity, what is the difference between the XLT and the FX4?

there was a post i was just reading a guy has like 50k on his 2 1/2" with no problems. so as long as you use some common sense and dont tear it up it will be fine. i dont remember the differences but i know its nothing big. it has been covered on here a bunch just do a quick search you should be able to find it.

HAHA, I know all about the "addiction" between my Mustang (1990 LX Vert, 306, Trick Flow Street heat upper/lower intakes, Trick Flow stage 1 cam, Bassani headers w/ offroad pipes and IMCO mufflers, Ford Racing aluminum driveshaft, Afco aluminum 3 core racing radiator, 3:73 gears, 5-speed, 2003 GT leather front and rear seats + more I am sure I am forgetting. Plus a 28' Century Ultra II performance boat w/ twin 454's. I have been wanting a truck but the boat is the main reason for buying it as we were living down at the Lake of the Ozarks and I just stored it at Frankie and Louies and payed them to put it in and out of the water for me.
