All right, but like I said it will be a few months before I do it...unless I just can't waite. Right now the plan is for a 4in lift...if that won't work then I am going to a spacer and a AL. The only thing that worries me is I am adding Harley flares to it (if I can ever get the factory 3M tape off of them! ), and they will take away a little wheel well clearence. Basicaly like your Lariat flares do.

Thanks guys for the input. I currently have a 16 ft trailer which I haul 3 quads with pretty regularly. Coming up the grade out of Imperial county kills my truck. Im tapped out at around 4000rpms barely keeping up with flow or traffic. I also haul a lot of wood for my job. More payload would be nice and not to mention the better gas mileage with the deisel.

I'd go with the gears first, that's cheap compared to a truck payment. Then if the truck still don't cut it get the SD. Hell I'd still want the SD no matter what. they are some bad *** trucks.

i was talking to a cop that has a lifted 2008 f250 6.4 with 37s and hes getting 9mpg on a good day. i also have another friend that just got an 2008 6.4 which is sweeeeet by the way but he said hes getting like 11mpg.

so i dont know what the deal is with these trucks and why they get such ****ty mileage. i know about the breakin period but the cop had 20k on his and still got **** mileage. i would deffinetly think about that man

There's not much out there that sounds as sweet as a diesel idling, except maybe a cammed up 427!

Since it's a PSD I'd deff. go with the 250. I keep telling myself that's my next truck.

On a side note, if you do trade up IM me about your front coilovers.

If you're serious about getting a toy hauler, then definately go with an F250 or F350 with the PSD. The typical toy hauler is much too heavy for any 1/2 ton to safely and comfortably handle.

But, don't expect great fuel economy out of the newer diesel motors. The old generation diesels got great MPG's, but due to the "clean diesel" requirements, that fuel economy has gone in the toilet.

So if you buy a SD, buy it for the power and handling (ok, and styling). If you're going to use it for what it's meant to be used for (towing/hauling), you should have no regrets.

Tell them to carry it in and get a reflash...mine is getting 14.6 around town with a heavy foot.

Diesel is alot more expensive around here, like .40 more a gallon than regular. The Super Duty is sweet but with gas the way it is I'd sit tight and wait for the new F-150.

I agree and hate it. But, feel a little more at ease to know that a lot of tuners and performance companies are working on things to help with the power and mileage.

You know in all honesty....if you can buy a $53K truck a few cents a gallon more for diesel really isnt the end of the world.

BTW I just got from a 240 mile round trip to FSU in Tallahassee pulling a Mercedes M class (I had to go pick up my cousins that was broke down so I carried her her moms and left it) and I got 15.8 MPG running 70ish on the road and a ton of stop and go in town. Thats not too bad IMO...especialy considering what those little SUVs weigh.
