I read about this earlier today and the reason the F-250 and F-350 is the chosen vehicle is because they are easy to steal. They didn't put a chip in the key until 2008. You just had to pop the lock cylinder out and go with a screwdriver.

Its exactly the opposite here in Los Angeles.... Escalades, Tahoes, Denalis, chevy trucks ect are take more often than Fords. They stick a screwdriver right under the door lock cylinder which believe it or not disarms the factory theft deterent system. Then they head straight behind the glovebox where Chevy mounts all their Onstar systems. Once they disarm that, they are usually free and clear... Unless the owner is smart enough to pay for Lojack.. We get a lot of cars back with that system.

I did know about the IFS. That's sad. I do wish Ford would have stuck with the solid axle though. I-beam is a lot better than IFS though.
