The only items that I had the dealer do on my truck was tranny flush and fuel filter change. The fuel filter change, as I've heard/read, is pretty simple, but a lot of people also break the clips. So I decided to pay them $60 to do it for me. I believe the trans flush cost me $99. Everything else, I did my own - oil change, tire rotation, air filter, diff service, visual inspections of various components.

I think my dealer wanted $465 to do all of the 30k list. I had them do the tranny because if I didn't they will not stand behind it. Also I had the Works coupon for $39.

gold coolant is recommended about 100k but i say do it at 60k.also when you look for maintanence schedules you need to use the severe service recommendations.they are for everday driving.

$500.00? If a dealer wants to charge you that for a 30K service, you had better run to the exit door fast!...........

Only at 24,000 miles on my 05. When I had the 04 Sport Trac, the dealer wanted $450 for the 30k mile service.

My 30k service was in the $360 range. I had them do everything except the fuel filter because I just had it changed at 25k.

The best thing you can do for your truck is have the plugs removed, nickel anti-seize put on the electrode shield, then put back in. Best insurance policy you can buy!!

Change the transmission fluid and filter, change the oil and filter and change the air filter if it hasn't been done already. The only time I ever change the fuel filter is if i get contaminated fuel (many years ago) and I have never had a problem. Of course, my last two vehicles I sold only had a little over 170,000 miles on them.
