No problem man. lol If I do find something I'll be sure and let them know because I know the GM there. I'm hoping my mechanic finds something because I hate it. lol

I had Precision Gears 4:10's installed in my daughters Wrangler here at work last summer and they are silent. Of course you probably couldn't hear any whine with the knarly **** Mickey Thompson mudders she has on it. I did notice that they called for 85w90 NON synthetic gear oil in the directions though. I used Motorcraft gear lube with no problems.

A mechanic at my shop suggested getting 85W 140 non-synthetic. Think this will work?

Try it, one of my Exs got a Detroit tru-trac and she was told not to use synthetic.

***UPDATE***

I stopped by today and let the manager and one of his mechanics take my truck for a spin. They came back and told me they thought one of the bearings was bad. I have an appointment on Friday and they're most likely going to replace the entire gear set with a new one. My reply was thank god.

Although, I did notice when I switched back from my 18's this weekend to my 20's the noise is drastically reduced but at highway cruising it's still annoying because it's constant.

In fact, I drove out to Daytona the other day from Orlando with the 18's on for work and before I drove back I stopped by Home Depot and bought some ear plugs because the damn drive shaft whine was so annoying. I could STILL hear it even with the ear plugs in. lol 80+ it was ridiculous.

Hopefully Friday will solve the problem!

I'm not sure at 70 but at 80 I'm at around 2475 rpm's. This is with the 20's.
