Does mod order matter?
Does mod order matter?
Hello All,This is my first post (I think) so please be gentle. I have a 2005 scab with the 4.6. Instead of a new truck I've decided to mod the current one, specifically with an intake, exhaust and X3 tuner.
Should I install the stock X3 tunes first, then intake and exhaust -- after waiting for custom tunes from Troyer?
Can I install an intake and exhaust without the tune, then the X3 canned or custom tunes later?
I'll also be installing an auxillary stacked plate trans cooler to help with boat towing.
Your thoughts and experiences will be appreciated.
Cheers!
you can install the intake and exhaust first and i would recommend it so that way you can get custom tunes for those mods, instead of having custom tunes for your stock truck then having to buy new ones after the other mods
but with the 4.6 all the intakes are safe to install without a tune

Put all the mods you want on first. Then put the truck on a dyno and have it tunes right there to adjust a/f ratio and so forth, on the stop. Its kind of like tying them all together so to speak.
