Tilt Wheel Lever Fell Off

Anyone had the tilt wheel lever fall off? I have an '06 FX4. It fell off at about 20000 miles and I just blew it off because the truck's had far worse problems, but I'm selling it and need to put it back on and don't know how. It doesn't appear to be broken. Also, the logo on the front grill is peeling and falling apart. I think it's pretty lame that the truck's brand name is falling apart and want to fix it. Can it be replaced without buying a new grill? Man I can't wait to wave goodbye to this piece.

I misunderstood your mileage. :o Anyway, the tilt lever supposedly pops back on. Mine popped off and when I took the truck in for other problems they popped it back on.

Whew, that's a relief. My dealer is a joke and i'll probably get charged an hour's labor. Does anyone know how that dash panel in front of the legs comes off? My personal opinion is that Ford blew it when they tried to get fancy with their trucks. Cheap, cheap looking, but indestructible worked really well for them. I don't understand this truck really. My '93 rattles, is ugly, and doesn't pick up any chicks, but it has 273,000 on the first engine and has never failed. The new one, a totally different story. Maybe I'll buy an '06 when it's down to $1500, in 2015.

I dunno... truck companies don't want people to buy old trucks... they'd rather have them buy new all the time.

Makes me scratch my head when I see all of these used cars on these lots and what it will look like 10 years from now.

Dealers are heavy into used vehicles these days because the profit margins are higher on those then new vehicles. Read this in Automotive News a few months back.

Mine tilt wheel adjuster has fallen off too! What a PITA it is to put it back on. It is the easiest to do if the wheel is pushed all the way up. Every time I use mine I pull it towards me just to make sure it doesnt come off again.
