stock air intake removal.

Can someone please tell me how to remove the stock intake on a 04 5.4. I have removed the 4 bolts around the airfilter and the one on the back side of the intake tube, but i cant figure out how to release the the boots.

It's been a whlile,. Try going to one of the air intake websites and looking for pdf's with instructions how to install. They should all tell you how to correctly dissasemble your intake.

Try AirAid. The instuctions that came with my kit were great.

the boots? You talking about the part that goes into the fender? Check this article out:

With the 4 bolts removed around the airbox, it should just pull straight up and off the throttle body. If I remember right, there's no clamps or anything holding the box to the throttle body.

Is the intake tube disconnected from the air box? That might be making it more difficult if it's still connected.

Here's the directions I followed...and had no trouble at all:
