You'll like that Warn shackle in your hitch. I've had mine for about 5 years now. Got it for my '97 and it was the first thing I moved over to my '06 when I got it. Its worked great for everything I've used it for so far! I picked mine up at the Tractor Supply Co.
I screwed up and let mine go with my old Jeep. I haven't gotten one for the F150 yet. I know I am going to regret that soon enough...
Never noticed any rust problem with it. I didn't keep it in the hitch though.

did he really say a f___ing boltYes I really did say a f____ bolt. A pin is no stronger than this bolt I have, and its not like your putting any more of a load on it than if you had a hook in your reciever with a pin.

I found a tensile strenth number for a hitchpin off website...36ksi...which I would asume is fairly standard, say that is even a light duty one and you get one with three times the strength, a bit over 100ksi. A grade 8 bolt is between 130ish-150ish ksi.
Now shearing and bending strength is related to tensile strengh, usually like 60 percent...SO, A grade 8 bolt is actually stronger than a hitchpin.
