Steering wheel upgrade/mod?

I've got an '07 XLT and I love everything about it except the UGLY gray steering wheel. Are there any decent covers available and/or how difficult is it to replace the steering wheel?

You could simply add an oem black wheel. I dont care for the grey either, but I guess I have gotten used to mine.

Pretty straight forward to remove a steering wheel, just go get a steering wheel puller, disconect your battery and pull it.

These guys do custom leather steering wheels, I've been thinking about buying a plain steering wheel on ebay for cheap, sending it to them, having it two tone leather wrapped...

I saw some steering wheels on ebay yesterday with the volume and heater controls. The seller said that if you used this wheel, heat and volume would be controled by this wheel. Are there connectors in the wheeel for these functions?

Read through this thread https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=259813. It describes in detail someone who switched out their steering wheel for one with controls. Short answer is NO, if your truck didn't have it from the factory you have to run the wires yourself from the column.

That looks like a nice package. Maybe they also do chrome. I'll have to check.

Thanks Fireman, the wheel in question is brand new with all functions. I have a stock stereo and manual AC, not ATC. I want to know if this will be a plug and play with the radio and the fan functions, I don't think the temp function will work. The truck is a 2005 XLT with factory cruise. Do you think this will work?

From everything I have read, no, it will not be plug and play, the wires aren't there in the column. You have to add them yourself. I looked at doing it myself but decided against it for now.
