there was a guy with a blue and tan lariat of 35 muds on his lariat, i cant remember his name. i think he was from alaska. i think most people take them of because they rub though. thats why i wont run 35's, flaps are a must up here.

i have 33s a 2in as and husky flaps and there is plenty of clearance with both the stock wheels and my aftermarkets that are 17x8.5 with 5in of backspacing. i dont think i have enough room for 35s though.

I have my 35's tucked in the wheelwells, I don't really need flaps but I think the tires will clear them. 17x8's with 5 1/2" BS. Click on the little camera icon to look in my gallery.

Mmmm. I just put a set of 285/65R18's on my stock FX4 rims today at the dealership. These are not quite a 33 inch (about 32.8 inches), but they barely rub the Huskys on the inside edge of the flap with the outside edge of the tire when turning. I am going to get pics tomorrow of the rubbing and see about trimming to fit. I have the 2 inch AS too, so I am not sure why your set up is not rubbing. I think that the stock rims have 5.5 inches of backspacing, so yours would stick out a little further. What is the width of the tire, maybe this is the difference? Just curious.

tires are 12.5in wide on an 8.5 in wide rim so there fairly wide. i find it odd that yours are rubbing... if you would like i can take some pictures in the next several days.

A 315/70 is almost a 35" tire and they clear Husky flaps no problem.....

I did not get out today to do much, but will have pics soon.

Edit: I also have the factory flares, but I'm not sure if that would make much difference.

OK. I took some pictures and loaded them into my gallary, but have never figured out how to post pics in the thread. Anyway, they should be in the "My Truck" album, so feel free to take a look. They just barely touched the inside edge of the guard, so there are before and after described pictures of trimming. Below, I have included information about the before tire and after tire. Not much difference at all, but going from a "C" range tire to an "E" range tire probably has something to do with it (deeper tread, larger shoulder, etc...).

Stock: Goodyear Wrangler AT/S 275/65R18C
Width: 10.8 inches
Diameter: 32.1 inches
Circumference: 100.7 inches

New: BFG T/A KO 285/65R18E
Width: 11.2 inches
Diameter: 32.6 inches
Circumference: 102.3 inches
* only 1.6% bigger in diameter *
