Black Chrome tips for Magnaflow exhaust

Have #16614 SIDO out the back on the 06. Came with 18 inch rolled slanted polished stainless tips. Anyone find black chrome tips ( any make ) that would fit. Need at least 16" tip to reach the tails. thanks

I would just get a set powder coated, the black chrome ones don't do to much for me.

Don't get blacked-chrome tips.

They look great initially, but once road dirt, grime, tar and whatnot build up, they are impossible to get off.

I say impossible because, after about 8 months of having mine, I tried every method [and then some] to clean them. It did make somewhat of an inpact, but nowhere near enough to satisfy my taste... or anything like they were when I first purchased them.

They both had a horrible "smokey" and "peeling" look all over them. You wouldn't notice from 10feet away, but getting closer was a different story.

I trashed them this summer and went back to the good ole' stainless chrome tips and ....

maybe it's the pic, but the black "chrome" looks exactly like normal chrome. the black tips idea sounds cool though

You're somewhat correct.

They do look near identical from a distance but up close and personal there is an evident difference. The black chrome actually does look better.... but there longevity is poor.

How do you think a powdercoated exhaust tip would hold up.........and about how much would that run to get two tips done?

I can barely keep the stainless steel ones clean. The powdercoating doesnt sound like it would work too well. I think rock chips and scratches will be more evident just like rock chips on rims would.

A friend of mine got the done and the tips exhaust behind the rear tires. So far they are in good shape but make sure you get the inside of the tip powdercoated or atleast spray them with some do spray paint becuase they will rust QUICK! His haven't chipped at all and I know he has thrown rocks up at them several times in the mud since I was with him. If I was going for a new exhaust I would definetely get black tips.

Ordered the black chrome ones. Never cared for the rolled tips and really hate chrome. Black rims next and I will have gotten rid of all chrome on the exterior.
