Had them on my Lightning. They made 2rwhp. Do they work? Yes. Worth the scratch? No.

If you actually went to the time AND EXPENSE to dyno your truck after installing UDP's to know for a fact it actually gained anything, let alone 2rwhp, then more power to ya. (BTW : BEAUTIFUL truck!!!!)

I've stated this in several other pointless post about UDP (there's a search feature on this site)....they are absolutely worthless, ESPECIALLY on a 6000lb, HUGE frontal area truck. It's analogous to throwing a chair off the Titanic. Did it make the ship lighter? Well yes, but was it noticeable to anything but the most sensitive of measuring standards? Hell NO.

Hey weazel -

BigMike (red reg. cab) over on FTW had them, and took them off, he said they weren't worth it. he did mention how much he gained from the E-fans though.

I talked to Mike Troyer about his underdrive pullies and he said they should make some difference. He stated that some people claim they notice and others don't. Can't say for other brands but I would think Troyers might do something.

Oh please define "some difference". Lifting your arm to chug a beer will make some difference too.

Seriously people, it's a very simple matter of physics. A few HP gain on a 6000lb mass with the frontal area of a barn is NOT going to be noticeable. Anyone who says they noticed it doesn't have a clue and probably think delivering pizza has a good pension. Do the math if you know how. Of course TP is going to answer that with "...some do notice it and some don't...." Okay, whatever thanks for the concrete answer.

Blow your cash how ever you want. BTW, I have a link to an insert for your intake that swirls the air around and gains you 10hp. It's only $100. "A fool and his money are soon parted...."

Done with these ridiculous claims on an equally ridiculous product. UDP might be noticeable on a go-kart, not a truck.

Troyer is trying to make money. Do you think he is going to tell you they don't make any difference?

I can see it now...."Some can tell a difference and some can't. How about you buy a set and find out."

That was on this current truck, I felt little difference, and that was at stock height with stock tires. The difference I felt was a slightly harder pull off the line, and I was looking for a difference.

I don't want to hate on MT, many people love the guy, I think he's alright, I've spoken on several occasions with him and his staff. There was nothing Godly with my experiences with him, I've spent almost $2k with them. However it is nice receiving an Xmas greeting card from them every year

I also sold my custom tuned XCal2 which cost around $450 for $100 about 6 months ago. I now have the edge and like it much more, just my opinion. If you live locally and can DYNO tune then that is a different story, it'd probably be worth the custom tuning. Not in my case.

Yea on my way to work today I had to sh*t real bad. It was a big one too I ate two huge burritos for breakfast. So I went in and unloaded then got back in my truck to go run some parts. I noticed a power increase definitely. It was quicker off the line for sure. Even with the extra parts in the bed I could feel the power!
Moral of the story. If you want cheap and easy horsepower. Go take a sh*t.
Disclaimer, if you are reading this please send a check for $20 bucks to Troyer Performance for our new found horsepower gainer.

-If that was written by MT, 100's of grown men would be running to the bathroom as we speak and writing the check on the chitter.
