There's more than one here who runs the 5-30 combo all year/wheather round.

my wife's beetle uses 5w20. the manual states that 5w30 can be used if 5w20 isn't available. so far i havent' found anything but 5w30 at the parts stores and i refuse to pay out the nose at the dealer for an oil change that would otherwise cost me $20 in my driveway.
