6" Pro Comp Questions

Whew its been a LONG time since I've been around these boards. I still have my 04 F150 XLT, with a 6" Pro Comp and 315's on it.

I'm here to ask a few questions. My dad is buying my truck from me, and has a bad back. He wants it brought down a bit so he can get in and out of it easier. I have NO idea what all suspension is available at this point for these trucks, I just knew what was going on when I wanted to lift mine.

With that said, what are my options? I REALLY don't want to have to put all the stock stuff back on. He likes the bigger rims and tires, but just can't handle it being as tall as it is.

You guys thing I could buy just the Rancho 4" spacer? Anyway to bring down the 6" thats on it already? I'm going to put 285's on it for him before he takes it, so that should bring it down a bit, it just needs less of a gap between the fender well.

Thanks guys, hope to have some decent responses. If you're just going to tell me I'm an idiot for bringing it down, find a different thread to post in.

Buy him some Amp Research Power steps with the extensions and he'll be able to get into the truck easier than if it were a stock truck.

X2. And probably right around the price of putting smaller spacers and smaller blocks in the back. And they are awesome to have.

If you put smaller spacer's on a 6" drop member pro comp kit(which is what your's currently is) you are going to have reverse articulation on your upper and lower ball joints and cv joints. It would be kind of the opposite of putting a leveling kit on. The result of this would be a very rough ride and poor handling. My 2 suggestions; return it back to stock, which would be a pain, or keep it looking good with the lift, wheels, and tires and get the amp research steps which are about $1300 and easy to install. If they don't get low enough for you(or your dad) you can get certain drop extensions to make the steps even lower than they come.
