Keypad Entry Question. Please help.

Not sure if this is the correct section to be posting this, but...

I just got my 2005 Screw Fx4 today and am loving it.

One question however....I was not given the 5 digit code for the keypad entry. Is there any possible way to retrieve the code or reprogram it without knowing the current code? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi fellow Ohioan, There is a BCM (Body Control Module) located on the back wall of the cab on the drivers side. It's behind the seat and under the interior panel. On that module is a sticker with a 5 digit code, that is the original keycode for your keypad. You need the original code to be able to reprogram your new code, instructions to do so are in the owners manual.

Your welcome, where in the buckeye state are you? I'm just west of Cleveland (the mistake on the lake).

I'm northeast of Cleveland, in Kirtland. (near Mentor, if you aren't familiar with the east side)

Here you go.

Programming a personal entry code
To create your own personal entry code:
1. Enter the factory set code (keypad will illuminate when pressed).
2. Within five seconds press the 1 • 2 on the keypad.
3. Enter your personal 5-digit code. Each number must be entered
within five seconds of each other.
4. After the code is entered, the locks will cycle, confirming that the new
code has been set.
Tips:
• Do not set a code that uses five of the same number.
• Do not use five numbers in sequential order.
• The factory set code will work even if you have set your own personal
code.
• If you set a second personal code it will erase your first personal code.

Instead of ripping out your interior, you can go up to the dealership and they would be able to get you the code, they didn't charge me nothing....

Funny, I was thinking about this the other day. I have had my truck for just over 4 years and never once used the keypad, because I don't know the code. Each time I go to the dealer, I forget to ask them about it.
