Stuck Phone Charger... any ideas.
Stuck Phone Charger... any ideas.
I have a phone charger stuck in the cig lighter in my 04 F150, just below the change holder in the centerpart of the dash.
I suspect one of the clips has popped loose or something, making it so it can't come out.
Is there an easy way to get at the plug and remove it, or just get teh adapter out?
Any ideas are greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Well before you touch anything electrical...disconnect the battery cables, then take the radio bezel off and get access to the cig lighter and see if you can find why it is stuck, and go from there
did you try twisting it? I know that seems kind of obvious but I have had it happen where the clips get stuck so I push it in and twist it to where it lands on a smooth part and then you can take it out.
I was able to coax it out, it was easy just tilted it a little and the whole fixture came in.
the stupid adapter had burned up in the thing had fused itself to the inside.
what I get for buying a 3.00 charger at a flea market I guess... haha.

A friend of mine bought a non-oem cheap 12v cigar charger for his Razr off ebay of like $5.00 and it burnt out the phone... from my findings, stick with OEM... It might cost a little more, but it is much safer and it won't cause your phone to burn out or your truck to nearly catch on fire. Just my $0.02.
