There seems to be quite a big misconception on what is considered a "train horn" :o

knock-off's like Siege, Omega, Legend, Buell, etc., etc. may be tuned to sound like train horns, but the simple fact is they're not

AUTHENTIC train horns are on a completely different level than the wannabe chrome or plastic FleaBay knock-offs....

Both in price and performance (there's reason why REAL train horns cost hundreds and sometimes thousands more than the fakes)

Also, the db rating listed on most sites are nuthin but marketing hype...

Some claim 152db, others even claim 175+db or more from horns that are identical

Do some research on REAL train horns (Nathan, Leslie, Prime, Wabco, etc.) and you'll see these numbers are mythical at best...

Nathan actually rates their loudest horn at just 143db, so that should give you an idea of what's what...

On a sidenote, any of the horns listed in this thread will be loud enough to get you through traffic, but I wouldn't call them train horns

The best sit for train horns is hornblasters.com. That is where I got mine from. The videos on there are great to.
