Speakers and subs for our trucks

So I have some nice Diamond Audio Hex Series speakers from a previous truck. My question is is there a reason we have the 5x7 speakers in our trucks and would I be able to fit my old circular speakers in there with some sort of adapter plate of something?

Question 2: I rode in my friends truck the other day which has the audiophile system with the woofer. I was very surprised how good it sounded. Would it be pretty simple to hook one of these up to an aftermarket headunit? I was leaning towards a stealthbox, but they are just so expensive. Anyone with an extra factory sub laying around feel free to shoot me an email!

Ha I need something that goes under the seat! Also just want to take the easy route, and I like the idea of it already having an amp.

take a look on ebay or in the classifieds here and you should be able to get an audiophile system. I am very pleased with mine and it looks stock.

I am curious about this, I've seen the adapter plates sold in stores but can't make it make sense in my head, putting a 6.5" round into a 6x8 oval. I'm assuming some of the door plastic has to be cut out to accommodate?

well it fits, kinda hard sqoosh to get em in, i had to have adapter plates for the front doors also... the 5.25" plates had a spot for tweeters, although rear fill is useless, i got the speakers for a great deal, but 6.5 fits, didnt have to cut nething

Alright well that makes it better knowing I can use my old door speakers. I guess I'll put those and the amp back in. As far as the woofer, as you can probably tell, I really am not sure what I want to do. I e-mailed a few guys in the classifieds last night with factory woofers. Yes, I have looked at supercrewsound before and that is another option. Who knows, maybe I'll just splurge and go JL. I've been very happy with them in the past. Anyone out there with a JL stealthbox have any input on how happy you are with it?

Cannon, I have the factory audiophile. I'll sell the woofer and speakers if you're interested.

Make your own adapters. You do need to trim some of your plastic out.
I also have a MTX Thunderform box. They are pretty nice and cost effective. $230.00 Ebay

I've got the JL Stealthbox in my scab and love it. Worth the money imo.

Alright well the old speakers are going in for sure then. I like where you put the crossover. I haven't had one of these doors apart yet, but it looks like there is a lot of room in there.
