Are these Flares Paintable?

I bought a set of used OEM fender flares off ebay last week. The description said they were paintable but they have a texture to them. I heard that the textured flares aren't paintable. This is the best picture I could get to show the texture:

They can be painted, but they will take a lot more prep work before painting than the Lariet style flares.

As long as I can paint them, good. I can sand the Sh*t outta them if thats all that needs to be done. I heard there is a chemical in them so paint wont adhere to them.

they can paint them. take it to a local body shop and ask. i had my superduty wrecker front fender flares painted. they will need to be sanded, maybe they will spray an adhesive for the paint to stick better but im not sure what the process is. but it can be done.

Help installing FX4 fender flares on a STX without drilling!

My truck doesnt have the pre-drilled mounting holes for the flares so I was wondering how to to install these without drilling into my fender. Any Suggestions?

3m along with bolts on the inside of the fender on the lip

and yes they are paintable just sand down the texture then adhesion promoter then primer paint and clear

and even the smooth flares should have a coat of adhesion promoter before painting

Sorry about asking so many questions but I have just one more. What type of 3M tape do I use and what part of the fender flare do I attatch it to? There are only the tabs which the bolts mount to. But it's about 1/4" lower than flush with the outside of the flare. Make any sense?

Your options are either to drill holes to match the little posts on the flares (someone here did it, more holes than I'd want to drill into my fenders so kudos to him) or cut off those posts and use 3m double sided tape. 3M makes an automotive "grade" of their double-sided tape for body mouldings, you can find it at Advance Auto etc. I would use some screws in the underside to help the tape, as others will tell you here it will lose it's grip over time.
