Long story short, there are a few 'top shelf' ladies out there that understand and support this addiction. Find one and you're set.

Well I come from the other side of the road... Im the girlfriend that has the truck, and i pretty much never consult with him about any small purchases... I will admit none have been huge in the dollar amount... but I have gone thru three grilles in like 5 months One a forum member has, one was sent back, and the current one is on the truck...

If I were to make a huge purchase over 300 bucks yes I would ask him what he thought, tell him what I thought and come to an agreement... I usually win though...

But I forsee him telling me how to spend my money soon, as the cc's get paid off this month I will have close to 4 grand coming in March of this next year for a tax return I know I won't be able to control myself with mods, so he might hold onto it for me and then discuss what is best

My buddy's dad bought about 4 ford superduty deezee crossover toolboxes that were blems from the factory... he bought them to resell... he was able to hide them from his wife for a while... in the neighbors garage.

As RockPick says I have a "Top Shelf" Lady. My wife fully supports my mods even when she doesnt understand what I am doing. I do however need to catch her truck up to mine but she doesnt want it all just trying to swing the drop kit for her for Christmas. The best thing that my wife has brought into our marriage is that if I want something fo the trucks she will set up a savings account and deposit money in it from both of our paychecks, so that way we can pay cash for most mods with out impacting the family as much. Down side is it just takes a litttle longer sometimes.

to all of the Top Shelf Ladies out there.

This should be a new thread because I am interested in one also.

Back on topic, my girlfriend does not care. I don't really buy frivolous crap at all so when I want to spend money on something it must be worth it.
I do consider her though, I want to take the running boards off but they make it much easier for her to get in and out so they may just stay on.

That doesnt fly no more I had our house built for her in 03 and a brand new Tahoe in 05 and 2 kids inbetween those 2 years. Now she wants the basement finished (1400ft not cheap) and a inground pool. Plus wants a new truck by next year. When I want something for my truck its 1k max when she wants something its 50k.

Wow this thread went into some weird territory here... I wasn't aiming at asking if you guys got your wife's permission on XYZ mod, but rather, did you pick a mod that you might have done differently to make things easier / nicer for your significant other. I will use my truck as an example.

Yes money is an issue. But I am trying very hard to steer away from any further lift on my truck, while still wanting to fit 35x12.50s, because my fiancee is just a hair over 5 feet tall, and soon to be pregnant with any luck. Hence only having the A.S. 2.5 and the nerf bars. The toolbox was installed to get crap out of the cab, so that we can make room for infant seats, that sort of thing... I was just wondering if I am the only wierdo here that is doing that...?

My whole truck set up is because I have 2 kids, infact the truck was bought because the second one was born. Thats why I bought the screw, running boards no bars, 2''as, Undercover and bed rug. The back came in very handy with dual stroller, bottle bags and all there other crap. And wait until christmas. My wife has to emty out her Tahoe and I need the whole bed cleared to get all there christmas presents home from my sisters house.

That's what I was getting at... This whole thread was spawned by PawPaw talking about not lifting his truck any higher to make it easier for MawMaw to get into his truck...

I picked a Supercab specifically for children. I am 6 foot, but I like to sit relatively close to the wheel so I don't have to stretch too far to reach, so the back seat has more leg room than you would expect, and Debi's side offers LOTs of leg room due to her height.

I know plenty of guys (and gals) here picked SuperCrews for the 4 door family car thing. I understand that fully, but wanted to insure that there was NO way that kids could open the rear doors without Mom & Dad up front letting them out of the car. Even with the kiddo lockouts, those don't always work...

At age 19-20, I was saying the same thing. Look where I am now. Awesome wife, 1 kid with another on the way, and bils bills bills.

I love my life though.

So as to keep this on track, I always ask if I want to mod something, AKA my bike etc...

The wife usually says no but then gives in if I keep hassling her. I love my wife.

Funny you mention that, I looked at both scab and screw. After a close look I discovered the back seats are identical, only difference is about 5-8 more inches of foot room, not leg room really.
