Just cuirous how much does the new body style stangs weigh?

late model f-bodys weigh in around 3300 - 3400lbs and have on average 335-350hp at the motor and 6 speeds putting down around 305-320 ish to the ground. Most average drivers seem to run mid 13's some higher and some lower.

If the new stangs weigh more than an f-body and have less power they should be a high 13-14 car(which is what I've been seeing).

I know there are other variales than just Hp...just kinda thinking out loud.

Well first off 4th gen F-bodys weigh around 3500 lbs depending on options of course. My '05 GT weighed in at 3610 before any weight reduction such as tubular k member, etc. It also made 268rwhp stock and just over 300 with the tune and intake. The LSX motors are strong no doubt and are a very good race for a lightly modded '05+ GT but as in any race it all comes down to the driver. The last time at the track with my truck I beat a 6.0 GTO by 3 tenths so explain that one-a car that weighs about 2k lbs less than my truck and has almost as much power. Some people just flat out suck at driving.

BTW my first pass ever in my stang was a 14.6 bc I forgot to lower the tire pressure and had a 60ft of like 2.5 or something stupid like that and then the next pass was a 13.6.

Mine TA weighs just a little north of 3300lbs, it was something like 3340 and I have all options except for CD changer. Yea GTO's are seem to be alot slower then they should be with the power they put out, but that guy needs to learn how to drive

All in all stangs vs f-bodys they are pretty close in stock trim and you're right it usually depends on the driver. But stock doesn't really matter how many of us leave them stock for long I however wouldn't own a stang I just don't like the styling much and I love the LSX motors. Hell when the new Camaros come out I might have to pick one of those up too. I love Ford trucks but when it comes to sports cars I'll take a GM any day.

Just had to add this. Your truck is badass
