i got not much of a choice over here. all i can get is 95 or 98 octane. most shell also have their 100 octane which they say keeps your engine clean, (we´ll see when the plugs come out at 100000) plus up to 5% better performance. truck runs fine, never had any issues with high octane fuel, like the ford manuel says they might occur.
Burning high test in an engine can damage to the oxygen sensors and it is not covered by warranty (my brother found this out the hard way). The dealer took care of it (since he does work for them at his body shop) but warned him it was a one time only thing and they were doing him a favor.

I'll make this simple :
IF your motor is not built/tuned for a certain octane rating, running anything higher is ABSOLUTELY POINTLESS. You will experience ZERO GAINS, PERIOD. Nada, zilch. The higher octane fuels are designed solely to prevent the onset of preignition, otherwise known as ping. The higher octane fuels are less volatile and hence, less likely to combust until the sparkplug fires.
Anyone who tells you different knows not what they speak of.

You said you spoke to your tuner...so i'd ask him. He knows how your engine is set up and should know how it will react (or provide the forum with more details...) If you are only changing the fuel and if your engine is not set up properly (compression & timing) I would think you might even see a decrease in performance no?
I think you'd be wasting your money honestly. Your truck is rated for 87 octane. Why would you put anything else in a stock truck?
It would be really expensive to keep buying high octane gas cans every week and a major pain in the *** to mix them. Unless you have an Octane gauge you'll never really know what your octane is. Beside you'll never notice the power difference (I could be wrong just my .02 cents).
In Canada I believe the highest octane you can buy is 94 Octane at Sunoco. http://www.sunoco.ca/default.aspx?ID=2390

okay... so if I have my edge and I up the timing is it okay to run 93 or is it a waste. I want to say my truck is running rich but I am not sure... I noticed a lot of "black stuff" on the pipes.
