Lazy Power Window

I was hunting in the rain this week in my 04 SCAB, and with the window going up and down alot, I feel that my windows are getting lazy going up. I do have the In-Channel window visors, so maybe some of that is the problem since they jam between the glass and the rubber trim.

Has anyone replaced their window motors?

Take it to the dealership there is a TSB out on it. They'll fix it free of charge. I had the same problem it involves re aligning the tracks and some new grease. Good Luck

I've had a problem with the driver's window for the past few weeks. When rolled all the way up, it would stick and then jump a little when you first rolled it down. And if you had it cracked a little, then it would rattle really bad when you slammed the door.

So last night I took the window assembly apart... Removed door panel, removed all window channels, removed window. I cleaned the regulator assembly rails, and applied fresh grease. I then proceeded to re-install everthing, following the TSB for window alignment. Once it was all buttoned back up, the window works like new. No more jumping/skipping, and it operates quickly and smoothly.

Start to finish, took me about 45 minutes.

Just curious, What's the TSB number and where can I get info on it? I did a search for it and couldn't find the TSB, thanks

The year is pretty irrelevant. Windows sometimes get "lazy" for a variety of reasons, including mis-aligned windows, bent rails, dry or dirty rails, etc... But yes, you will have to pay for it if you take it into the dealer. If you're at all mechanically inclined, I'd recommend that you try to tackle this yourself. It doesn't take very long, and isn't very difficult. But it will save you alot of money over taking it to the stealership... If it were me, my plan of attack would be clean and re-grease all rails in the door, and re-align the window.

OK, I can take care of cleaning and greasing the tracks, but how do ou re-align the window? I assume that the TSB above talks about how to realign..

I guess I will start with cleaning and greasing the tracks. But I'll have to wait until the spring..
