Tail lights top or bottom

Tail lights top or bottom
On my flareside i noticed that the bulb was on the bottom but on a styleside the bulb was on top. is this because one was a flareside and the other styleside or does it have to do with years

Never noticed honestly... I thought they all (2004 - Current) had the bulb on the top. At least with O.E. lamps. I guess the flare side lights are different. I don't see too many of those around here. They are kind of rare.
