Keys

Hey guys, got a question/problem.
A few weeks ago I let my mother borrow my truck and she lost my extra set of keys. I still have my main set of keys and want to get another set. Do I have to go to Ford to get another set made with the wireless keyfob? If so, is it expensive? Thanks.

You can get the remote key fob on ebay, and the key, but you’ll have to go to the dealer or some locksmiths can program the key. You need two keys to be able to program it your self. A dealer or locksmiths will probably charge you (if you have the key already) about $35 to program it, if buy the key and have them program it it’ll be around $80

What he said....if you only have one key, you will need to take it to a dealer to get it programmed.

Its always a nice Idea to have 3 programmed keys just for this reason...you can program the third one yourself, and if you would happen to loose one of them, you still have two so you dont have to go to the dealer just to get another one programmed.

Thanks for the replys. I went to ebay and found a good deal on a new uncut ford key and remote fob combo.
Does the stealership have to cut the key to fit? or can i get it cut myself? I went to my local ford dealer on wed and they told me it would be about 75 bucks and take an hour and a half. does that sound about right?
thanks guys.
