Does anyone else have a metallic rattling sound from their steering wheel especially when turning left? My truck is an '04 FX4 SCREW with the cruise control buttons on the wheel. It's a real annoying sound that I hear all the time when turning and occasionally when driving straight. Thanks for any help.

mine did that after i removed andd reinstalled the steering wheel, my clockspring is toast for sure... dunno what you could have done to cause it though

 

What is a clockspring? Also, is there any special tools needed to remove the steering wheel? If I attempt it, do I need to worry about the airbag going off?
