Hella black magics?

I am trying to decide if I want to buy some hella black magics. Is the glass tinted, how do they do it? I have a set of Hellas right now and I wanted to put hids in there. I didn't think I would have a problem since they use an h2 bulb. I can't decide if I should just buy the Hellas, try to tint mine, or just leave them clear...

There is a diffuser inside the light that gives them the black look. They are real bright when they are on. I love them, I have a pic of them mounted...

Heres how they are behind the grill (look past the plow)

On the light bar

Thanks, it looked good, right now it looks like a dirty plow truck with all the nice shiny stuff in the garage for the winter.

It would be hard to make them yourself. Your only thing you can do is to tint the glass, but then it will dim the output of the light.

I love the black magics. Never cross my mind to try and convert them to HID. Hmmmm.
