Nitto Terra graps

Hey guys...well i just took off my wheels are tires for winter. I have about 15,000miles size 305/55/20 on my nitto terra grapplers and they are pretty wore down. I have rotated them regularly and worried that they are only good for another 5,000 miles. I'm really dispointed that they have only lasted this long! Guess i have an excuse to upgrade

Only 20000 miles? It sounds like there is some alignment issue or something if you are only going to get 20,000 out of them.
Mine only have about 10,000 on them and they look like new, tread depth was on all 4 was between 10-12/32 when I last rotated them (about 600 miles ago). My boss has them on his 2500HD and has put over 20,000 on and they still have more than 1/2 tread left.

I would think they would last longer.

I have almost 20,000 on mine now, and they still have a bunch of tread left. Actually suprised me how well they are doing. I roate every 6,000 miles, and have only had an alignment when I did the level.

Why are you taking them off for winter???? 30,000+ on mine so far and from the looks of them now, I will get bored and replace them long before they "need" replacing.

its because our roads suck around here. If you do mostly local driving (no highway), then all you get is 20k miles out of set of tires. It usually doesn't matter what brand of tires either. That has been my experience, my dads, and several other truck owners I know at work.

I have 295/75R17 Nitto Terra Grapplers. Been on the truck for 15000 miles of local, highway, gravel and some off road driving. Tires still look new. Havent had a single problem with them.

Now that I have the 6 inch lift I wish they would wear out a little faster so I can justify buying some 35's. But like someone posted above, I will probably go ahead and bite the bullet and buy some 35's before this set is even close to being worn out.

FWIW,

Brian

Hey MN-F150, I like what you have done with the truck, and that thing would lok awesome with a set of 35's. Only thing I don't like is the brush guard. To each is their own.

Also if I was a betting man, I would say your trying to impersonate an FX-4 with the bed side stickers. LOL. I did the same thing for awhile too, but then just decided to pull the stickers completly.

What mile intervals did you rotate them? I installed my MUD graps when i had 2,400 miles on my truck in 2005 and now i have 50,000 miles and they will hit the wear indicator in about another 6,000 miles.... I rotate every 5,000 miles.... sounds like there is something else wrong...
