Backup Sensor

I'm having an issue with the back up sensors on my 2004 screw.
When I put the truck in reverse, the sensor turns off. The button won't turn the sensors back on while in reverse.
Kind of defeats the purpose.

Anyone had this problem?

Ron

Im pretty sure that happens when one of the sensers goes bad, but lets see if someone else has any input.

That is what mine did when the sensor went bad. Check all the connections first to see if they have any corrosion.

I had something similar happen. It was a $9 part (a back up speaker) that was fixed at the dealer.

When you would put your truck into reverse would you get a short beep when the light would come on? This is what mine does and I check the sensors one be one, check the fuse and I even check for trouble codes... If your truck did as stated above, did the speaker fix the problem?

The dealer told me the speaker is part of the module and its over $100 for my 04 Lariat!

There isn't any beep when I put my truck into reverse, the "Off" light just comes on. I haven't had a chance to check the connections, hopefully this weekend.

I think you should be getting a short beep from the speaker when you first put your truck into reverse, when the light first comes on. I would say your speaker may be part of your problem. Mine doe beep, and the sensors seem to be working as I check them one by one.
