Pinion angle

How do you determine your pinion angle and what should ours be from the factory? 04 screw 4x4 short bed. Also are the procomp blocks tapered or are they the same block for either side and are our factory blocks tapered? I think my vibe is comming from my driveline and just want to check my pinion angle because I found a shim kit randomly on line and said it corrects the angle on lifted trucks. Could I have my procomp blocks in backwards and whats the correct pinion angle, I have an angle finder but dont know where to check it or how really.

I have a pro comp kit in my truck and both the alum lift blocks and the factory blocks with overload ears were completely square. I had a bad u joint in my truck so i put a digital protractor on the transmission, transfer case, drive line at both u joints and also at the rear diff. All of my angles came up in the green according to our software at work.....

ps here is how to check at home

how many miles were on your truck when you had the bad U joint? I think I have a bad u joint but with 51k I think I might have a pinion problem to make it go out?
