Burnt headliner ?? about removing

Don't ask but I burnt a good size hole in my headliner with a heat gun, I was trying to "dry out" a decal so I could remove the transfer for tape but thats another story.
How hard is it to remove a headliner in a supercrew? I was trying to save some $ by taking it to a repair shop rather then pay the labor for them to remove and install it.

I'd have to look and ask my trim/upholstery guy, but I'm pretty sure the service manual will want you to remove the back glass and remove the headliner through the rear.

I hate messing with headliners personally, I've broken too many trying to remove them myself. If you had a Scab, this'd be a piece of cake, but for the piece of mind I don't mess with headliners.

Seems a little unnecessary if you ask me, however I don't do this all the time so I 'll take your word. Let me know if thats what need to be done, it would be opening a whole new can of worms, could it not be taken out the side doors somehow?

Why don't you have somebody upholster over the headliner. Should be cheaper and easier. You can droop it down and stitch or staple to the underside, it's the pulling out of your truck process that is going to be difficult.

Well, they say to remove the rear glass and take the headliner out that way in a lot of cars and trucks, that doesn't necessarily mean that's the only way to do it. The upholstery guy I work with doesn't do that, but if you saw him remove and install headliners you'd swear he was gonna screw it up.
