No front sway bar?

Since there are almost no places to mount external shocks with a front bag setup, I've been debating on pulling the front sway bar off to gain a mounting point for a second shock on each side, that won't rub at full lock.

how much am i going to lose by pulling that thing off?

Body roll like a *****! Makes the truck downright dangerous IMO

I am not so sure that it will effect your setup much... sense you are ridding low anyway.

FatherFord pulled his sway bar off and if I remember right he didn't have any issues with doing it or any major handling changes.

He may chime in on this...

You should be okay to do it.

This is what Fatherford's input was on it.

I 've taken mine off and put it back on many times.. I put it back on a few weeks ago.

There isn't much difference with or without it really... as far as handling goes.

I pulled mine off lifted with no problems I would leave it off but everyone I talked to was like O thats not safe, and if you get in a wreck insurence coudl deny the claim being that you messed with a safety item on the truck. The insurence thing made me put mine back on but the truck handled so much better that is was a true independent front, a little more Body roll but not bad at all. Whats the reasoning for a second shock on a lowered truck? And on a lowered truck I would have no problem taking it off.

You want body roll take a ride in my ranger I can almost 3 wheel around turns, so much fun!

On the track racing is where I DIDN'T want one. Road racing.. yeah, you'll want it.

Taking it off helped the weight of the truck shift to the rear tires and hook better.

the bags are mounted where the stock struts mount. in order to stuff a shock in there, it has to be close to the pivot of the LCA at the frame, and therefore, doesn't do much work because of so much leverage on it. leaving the front of the truck to bounce up and down a bit. not too bad, but i'd like to have a little more control up front.

what kind of shock is there now and how is it mounted? Could you get like a tuneable rezzy shock and stuff it in there? Tuneable to make up for the leverage and rezzy for the added heat of the added thick valving?

thanks drew - i'll give you a call tonight

the shocks in there now are toxics from a chevy fullsize (just by chance). i thought of running a QA1 or something like that, possibly with an external res. but its just a puzzle under there when you're trying to get everything to fit. and work safely. fortunately, i'm still running the DJM LCA's so i can weld to them, rather than the stock aluminum LCA's.

Been riding swaybarless since whever I made that thread... Only when I take a HARD corner nice and fast I can tell it's not there.

Daily driving, I cant notice if it's there or not.

Oh BTW towing is fine without the swaybar also....

I would get a good fox shock and valve it for how you want it, deff get rezzy to help with the heat because you sound like you will be valving it pretty stiff. QA1 are good shocks my lil sis race car has them on there, but quiet a bit more money then a cheap fox.
