I am also considering this, I have seen the conversion kits for around 500. Just dont know if I can trust that they will not harm the motor and are properly tested/designed

Hi.

May I ask, what is included in the kit? Is tuning also included?

Thanks!

The kit includes plugs that go between the injector and the plug, it just widens the pulse of the injector allowing the E-85 to burn and not cause a lean condition.

That's it?

What about the fuel pump, injectors, fuel lines & tank, etc, etc - all of those things that get exposed to E85 that is demonstrably more corrosive than E10 ???

That bandaid is also not a substitute for proper E85 PCM tuning.

This sounds like a disaster waiting to happen.... good luck.

I'd do some more research - just sayin'... as I recall a total conversion is on the order of a couple thousand $$$.... just sayin' ....

Trust me I agree completely and thats why I posted here in an attempt to gather more information. I have been researching this whenever I have some down time and actually came across a site where a guy claimed the Fuel pump, lines & injectors were all E-85 compatable on the newer 150's. He said because Ford now makes the flex fuel 5.4 it was cheaper for them to check these parts for e-85 compatability and when they passed just use them across the whole 150 line up rather than having various parts bins and changing things up on the assembly line. He claimed the parts numbers for the lines, pump & injectors were the same rarther gas or e-85 model. I havent verified any of these claims, so dont shoot the messenger, but I did find it interesting.

The price for E85 near me is $2.76

Unleaded per gallon is $3.06

So I'm not sure the conversion is worth the cost?

E85 is cheaper, but the loss of MPG just doesn't make it economical

besides, in the long run, it would be better to get a FFV truck rather than convert to FFV.
