Just reset it with a code reader or unhook your battery and that should do it. If you're really worried, read the code with the code reader to make sure that it was just the fuel running out, then reset the code. If you don't have a code reader, take it to a local auto parts store like Advance Auto Parts or auto Zone. They can read the code for you for free and reset it too, if you like.

It probably just ran a little lean from lack of fuel. I'd fill it up, clear the codes and see what happens.

The Advance Auto in my neighborhood will put their code reader on and clear it for you no worries. I bet if you have one near you they should do the same...

You might want to note what the code it was throwing is...

If it's something not related to running lean then you might want to dig further...

I knew this would happen at some point. I let my girlfriend borrow the truck to pick up some crap from her parents house. Well she ran out of gas on the way. And I have the damn computer that tells how many miles are left, gee.
Yes it seems for some reason that women think its against the law to put gas in a vehicle, every time I go and drive my wife's car its always on empty.

I knew I must have married a good one! She has no problems filling up her tank when it's empty. It's also very nice that she makes over $100,000 a year. It enables me to live the life that I have become accustomed to!

My household is just the opposite, my wife will go out of her way at a 1/4 tank to fill up. I'll run it on fumes to keep from stopping. Three fill ups ago, I ran it to 2 mi left til empty. Then on my last fillup the computer said 0 mi to empty. Does anyone have an idea how long you can drive on 0 mi????

About as far as it takes for you to have to push.

Since I'm not rich & spoiled I only have an XLT which doesn't have the "miles 'till empty"... But I have a 30 gallon tank, and one time I ran it so low that I actually put in slightly more than 30 gallons at fill-up (I think something like 30.28 gallons).
