hid bulb number for fogs....
i can't find a 9145 hid setup for the fogs...i know some of you are running 9005's but im worried about melting my foglights....if i recall correctly tho aren't hid's cooler in temp then stock halogens? i want to run the hids in my fogs then see if really need them in my headlights....thank you
note i have the 05 rectangular fog lights i dont know if that matters for heat dissapation or not?

Yeah. Temp wise HIDs are way cooler... around 40-50 degrees colder op temp.
Get the 9145 not the 9005... Even if the 9005 would fit IT IS a high beam bulb and should never be used in this app. The optics change when the arc and filament move as they would not be in the same spot as the 9145.
9005 should never be but in a 9145 spot! Because the bulbs are very different in arc and filament placement. Anyone who does this isn’t getting the most performance out the reflector housing. They are basically changing the optics and getting less performance and creating a LOT more wasted light AKA glare! That kind of thing is dangerous.
If you contact an ebay seller. Most of them can order the 9145 bulb for you even if it is not on the sellers ad. They usually just order it with their next shipment or direct.

h13 for the heads....h10 for the fogs....h10=9140=9145...these fit the 2007 round lights...dont know about the older square lights..its easier to find a h10 hid lights than a 9145, even thought they are the same....some want the exact number
Do you need bi-xenon HID's? I mean they are going to be brighter than crap anyway... Do you need a hi beam? I am just wondering cause its cheaper to just get the low beams on Fogs and Heads... Right or am I wrong?
i have h3 bulbs in my fogs but those were no where close to the same size, i had to make them work by cutting up a 9145 bulb and putting the h3 in that

Really? This works? No excessive heat in the light housing's of '06+ when using an H10?
What would you do? 8000K? 6000K?
i hear all the time use 9145, use 9145....yes that is the "correct" bulb, but ur missing out if u dont go 9005. The pattern on the beam isnt skewed....its just as wide, if not wider that the 9145, also brighter. I have had no problems with heat, melting or anything, so if your going the fog light route...go 9005.

So I'd assume this setup would work just fine in an '06 or newer, without problems?

Probably because of the high wattage they are rated at, especially for fog lights?? Just wondering.
what to do for the fogs...match the heads...
and get real xenons...not blue bulbs from walmart or autozone isle 8...get a quality like a phillips ballast...no headaches later...my first set is over 3 years old. i have seen people even on this site that got the $100 set ups on ebay only to buy new bulbs (at about $100 per set after shipping) to replace the burnt ones.
www.xenonking.com good site to look at for a guide, not saying buy from them but i have 4 times in the past, great company, call them and talk to them very friendly and wealth of information
get wiring harness also with relay, keep from possbile damage of melting factory wiring harness, on possible problem on some vehicles with auto headlamps.
