How fishy does this look

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/GAS-S...QQcmdZViewItem

Any one ever come across this before

Supposedly you get

- 5-10 MPG Guaranteed or your money back!
- 10+ FT. LBS. of Torque
- 15+ Horsepower
- Faster 0-60 MPH Times
- Reach Higher speeds quicker
- Greater Acceleration
- 20+% Quicker throttle response time

How much B.S. is this?

Whats the old saying, "If it's too good to be true, it probably is."

Yea, these things are a joke. Most of them are a .30cent resistor that you put in line after the MAF and it fools the computer into thinking the engine is getting, more or less air or a different air charge temp than it really is (they vary in what they do depending on where told to hook them up). In reallity all they do is throw codes and cause your engine to run lean or rich, if anything at all.

Stay Away!

First of all they don't show what this thing looks like, that's red flag #1. The fact it's promising 5-10 MPG improvement is red flag #2. You'd be lucky to gain 5 MPG with a tuner costing hundreds more. Red flag #3 is it supposedly leans out the factory fuel mixture to gain the extra MPG. Assuming this is real all that will accomplish is higher combustion temps and burned valves.

This belongs in the trash bin with the throttle body spacer and the Tornado.

Yeah total BS, as mentioned its a resistor you could pick up at radio shack for under a buck. Had a moron who tried one on an old nissan forum I was on. He said it felt like the truck was running in cold weather even when it was 110 outside. Personally I'm with the others in the fact it will probably do alot more harm than good. Think Ford doesnt know about this "technology"? If they could safely gain all those benfits for under a buck per vehicle they would...

How fishy, let's just say it is probably a new world's record. And it started to stink like it was dead a week when it was posted.

If there is one way you want to mess up your F150 is by buying something for $10 and have it mess with the computer of a $20k truck...

C'mon... this ain't no little Honda Civic... it's a piece of machinery! Sheesh!

It's like would you put on O2 sensor emulators to keep off a CEL because you are too cheap to buy new Cats or O2 sensors?
