Heated mirrors

I have an 04 Lariat without heated mirrors. If i buy some heated mirrors and install them, will they function? and what would turn the heat on and off? Thanks

If I install heated mirrors, what physical mechanism (ie - switch) would I use to turn the heated mirrors on and off. I do not have a switch for that function, because my truck is stock without heated mirrors. Do they turn on and off with the defroster function or something. Hope this is more clear, thanks

I have the factory heated mirrors, and they come on automatically. ( The truck is running, the heated mirrors are running. ) If you went aftermarket you could grab something with a switch.

I am surprised they come on. My 04 FX4 had to have the button pushed to get the heated mirrors on. Do you have the rear window defrost by chance?

Thankfully you're here, I'm getting my vehicles mixed up again. Yes I have the rear defroster, and yes, i TURN THAT ON to get my mirrors to defrost. Sorry, I'm not a morning dude, and I just came off of night shift.

How does that work? Seems weird that Ford would have heated mirrors running all the time. I have an 06 Lariat and you have to push the button on the dash to make them come on.

Mine has a button for the heated mirrors.

It is the farthest button to the right in the same strip that the A/C and Recirc. buttons are in.
