9's may be hard to believe, and I have never been in a 9 second vehicle. I'd be willing to lay money that his truck pulls harder than my 11.50's mustang from a roll. I only know what they guy told me. He's nearly 50 and seemed like a straight shooter. He knew I liked automotive things and he didnt say a word until I asked him about his truck. He didnt brag or make a big scene just pulled me over to the hood and we talked about it. After that ride I have no reason to doubt him. Words cant describe how fast that thing pegged the spedometer and kept on pulling. He went through all 5 gears and (auto) and hit OD in what seemed to be 15 seconds.

If I see him next weekend I'll ask him some more info (no its not a date). One thing about a diesel thats easy to forget is that its 700hp but how much torque and how flat is the torque curve. I know you guys are not calling BS directly on me, but I have a reasonably fast car so, I am a decent judge of the speed this thing was putting out. I still cant get over it.

Again all I can say is what he told me. I dont know if he said it oughta or did or what. I did specifically ask him 1/4 mile vs 8th, but maybe I missunderstood.

This guy lives in stapelton alabama. I drove there from mandeville for a family event and he was there. He is dating one of my cousins.

BTW I was able to get 18 mph on that trip. Not too bad IMHO for a truck with that much size and weight. My sig pic is how I drive. Cruise on 75. I filled up immediately before I left and immediately after I returned. I worked a little harder to squeeze more fuel into the tank when I came back and I calculated 17.9XX mpg so I am rounding up to 18.

a 9 sec time slip would make that one of the fastest trucks in the country and it probably wouldnt be very streetable. also 44 psi isnt even remotely close to enough boost to make that kinda of power/torque or time slip. try about 3 times that much

i you really have a mustang that runs 11.5's you should just take his money

You guys should keep in mind that a 700hp diesel is probably making close to-if not OVER-1000 ft lbs torque.

Diesels automatically have lower horsepower figures due to lower max RPM (which is one of the components in converting torque to hp), but they work harder

Edit: Forgot... I would like to know how to keep the traction on something like that, though.

Could it be possible 9's in 1/8 mile track. Maybe the guy meant 1/8 mile track instead of a quarter mile.

Same for you and your T/A. Check my video of my 11.61 pass.

if hes ever through tallahassee ill gladly dust that truck
wouldnt be a problem on motor as i dont see that truck being in the 11's but id probably run the 150 pills just to put an emphasis on it

then he can run a cummins in town that has maxed out the torque on every dyno in the area, 2k ftlbs+ with twins, the outlet of the first feeding directly into the inlet of the second snail pushing 130 psi

700hp is alot for a diesel, that well over 1000lb...
For you gas guys most diesel trucks do 4wd lauches off the line (thats traction for ya). Weather its a duramax, powerstroke or dodge they all will get into 11s if not lower with the right work done.. 140MPH plus in a 6.0 powerstroke is impossible the heads will blow after 120.

Stock 6.0 turbo will boost a little under 40psi (325hp), so 44psi isn't going to have 700hp. You would need a lot more boost.

87 octane and 44psi in a gas engine?
1. 44psi turbo would grenade a gas engine.
2. All of the detonation would again blow the engine up.

I love the sound of powerstrokes, but did anybody else notice that the two crazy diesels were powered by CUMMINS . They sounded like the older 12V CUMMINS.

I used to have a 1990 Plymouth Laser RS Turbo, it ran 11 lbs of boost from the factory and specified 90 octane. I don't think I ever ran anything else in it as 89 was alot cheaper than 87 or 90+.

Oh yeah, well I know this guy with a magic truck with 10,000 hp and 1,000,000 lb/ft. that'll run 5's in the 1/4 on regular vegetable oil... in reverse!

Why do these threads always turn in to a pissing match?

Along with the f150, I have a 2003 VW Passat with a 1.8l Turbo. Not sure what the factory boost is but it will run on 87 octane but gets about 5 mpg less than on premium. We ran 87 when we bought it a few months ago not knowing you should run premium.

I dont remember if he told me 44lbs of boost or 44 lbs of boost each turbo. Compared to my stock 7.3PSD, 44lbs is a ton of boost. I wont share any more threads like this unless I have dyno numbers, 1/4 mile times and copies of lie detector results as the owner/builder is hooked up and telling me about the truck. As mentioned it turned into a urination match and I just wanted to share that this was one friggen fast truck and give some idea of how it got that way.

Ya'll are overlooking a major point here... That guy has a 6.0. No way in hell that motor can handle that amount of power. They start spitting out headgaskets, stretching studs, etc as soon as you throw a tuner on em. And 9's? Maybe in the 1/8th.
