Adjusting Doors?
Adjusting Doors?
My driver door does not seat well at the top and hence I get wind noise. The weather stripping is good. Is there a way to adjust the door so the top sits closer to the body? BTW, the door lines up fine with the front fender. Thanks.
roll the window down and fron the inside with the door open pull the top of the door tord you with your knees or someone holding the bottem of the door in place. pull a couple of times test and repeat as nessary
My rear door, driver side didn't line up perfectly when I purchased the truck. Didn't notice it for a couple months, but did have the wind noise. The dealer lined it up for me, of course, since it was under warranty. It sounds like what you are describing is what I had..I would have it lined up professionally if you aren't used to doing something like that yourself...they don't tug up or down when they align them, they adjust the bolts holding the door. By the way, mine was done 3 yrs ago and has not gotten out of alignment since. Good luck!

Since the door wasn't lined up with the frame of the cab, I had the wind noise. I would still have the dealer check it out given the issues that can be had with our trucks and the windows. Good luck.
Sorry, I didn't explain myself too good. It is like you say, the door frame while shut, does not end up tight enough to the frame and hence the weak seal on the door/weatherstripping. It's as if the outer weather stripping is not working. I can use my finger to break the seal of the inner weatherstripping and it sounds like a tornado is out there. I will still give the dealer a try. I just hope I don't get the 'wind noise is normal' routine.
