I'd be interested in some opinions on this also. I just had my 30k service done and had the pan drop/filter change/power flush done. Was going to switch to Mobil 1 synthetic tranny fluid but mine was awfully clean at 29k miles. The tech didn't even have to clean the pan...no particles at all. I figured what the heck and had him put Motorcraft fluid back in it.

No, I'm not sure what to think about synthetic in the tranny...I have read a few threads that seem to go toward NOT putting it in there. I just had my 30K done with Motorcraft. Seems like in most cases these tyranny's last a long time even where the owner doesn't service them. I think, at least for now, I'm just gonna stay with flushing it every 30K with Motorcraft fluid.

Did your pan get dropped before or after the flush? I didn't have my filter done at the dealer. It wasn't part of the service plan. I am going to do the filter myself next weekend. I ask because I imagine mine will be clean too since it was already flushed.
