EDIT: So on the Scabs and Screws, the 5.4 is only an $895 option. So, really, what gives, Ford? Why the almost 2x increase for this engine in the Reg Cab?
Ford pricing of options never made sense to me. Take a look at the tow option, You get an upgraded radiator, Oil cooler, class 4 trailer hitch all for only $350.

It is a prep package for the supercharger. You also have to pay for the supercharger per the dealer after SALEEN installs it. Why you need a moonroof and tow package is beyond me...
F-150 2008 - FORD HARLEY-DAVIDSON ***U.S.***
SUPERCHARGER PREP PACKAGE
Please be advised that there is a Ford Harley-Davidson Supercharger Prep Package (55D) available on MY 2008 F-150 SuperCrew 4x2 . The Supercharger Prep Package requires the Ford Harley-Davidson Package (86H), Power Moonroof (43M) and Trailer Tow Package (535). Via the ship thru process, the vehicle is shipped to SALEEN for installation of the Supercharger Package, which includes a twin-screw supercharger and a dual-stage water-to-air intercooler.

why does it seem silly? Ford makes one type of center console with the shifter, and it has vents on it. They wouldnt put a console in a regular cab that blows air into the back wall of the cab and other things back there.

The vents can stay in the console so they don't have to make an entirely new console just for regular cabs but just don't connect them. Why is there a tweeter hole in my door panel but no tweeter? Because I don't have the Audiophile package. Just because there's space for it, doesn't mean it has to be used. No one would even notice there's vents back there.
I wish I had the console with the shifter in my reg. cab but I have a manual 4x4 so I can't even do the conversion.

yes, I think it is dumb to not even offer the console... I really like the fact that the new tundra single cabs come with it.

I'd like to see one with the center console as well.. not like it would be hard to make a new console with the vents not there either.

but does ford really want to put a whole new part (they would consider it one) into production now? for the current model, i doubt it.

its not that complicated. pop the rear vents out and then pop a plastic piece in to cover the holes were the vents were. 20 cents at most the rest of the console is already in production.

Yep -- I always lament not having been able to get a flow-through console with the center-mounted shifter in my regular cab.....

I have the XLT console that I've installed in mine, but it's still not as cool as the flow-through model.

I could care less that I can now only fit two people in my truck.....

They could just put two more usless change holders there like they do in the dash where the 4wd switch would be.
